A new poll shows community support for marriage equality remains sky-high, as a number of politicians from both the Greens and Labor-minority government attempt to show a unified face in support of same-sex marriage following questioning of their commitment by some within the ALP and media recently.
A Roy Morgan poll commissioned by new Channel Ten television debate show, Can of Worms, suggests 68 per cent of respondents favour legalising same-sex marriage with 30 per cent against it.
Australian Marriage Equality (AME) convener, Alex Greenwich, said the poll’s findings emulate other recent research, including a survey commissioned by his organisation last year.
