Mitch Landy combines a classical music education with his own eclectic musical tastes, bringing a fresh approach to the harp. He lived in Philadelphia until 1991, and was very involved in the city’s Irish music community.
His involvement with Irish music exposed him to the magic of the Celtic harp, and he went on to adapt pieces from the classical literature to the harp, an instrument traditionally associated with Irish music.
Soon after, he learned to play the concert harp , with its greater facility to handle the key changes and complex harmonies of classical and pop music.
