Marriage Equality Ban Opponents to Kick Off Campaign at Gay Pride in MinnesotaOpponents of the state’s proposed marriage amendment have spent months planning a major public outreach effort at this year’s Twin Cities Pride Festival.

Minnesotans United for All Families, the umbrella group of organizations opposing the amendment, is looking at Pride as the “official start of the campaign in the public eye,” said spokeswoman Kate Brickman. “We’re not going to wait until the State Fair.”

Gov. Mark Dayton is scheduled to host a fund-raising reception along with Minnesotans United on June 19, a few days before the festival.
