Australia: Civil Unions Proposed in South AustraliaA PROPOSAL for gay civil unions will be introduced to State Parliament after the defeat this week of national plans to legalise same-sex marriage.

Independent MP Bob Such will introduce civil partnership legislation to State Parliament later this year.

Dr Such said he was urged to do so by gay rights groups hoping to move a step closer to full same-sex marriage.
