The question of same-sex marriage rights was raised in the Hawaii News Now-Honolulu Star-Advertiser U.S. Senate debate Monday night (Oct. 22).
Linda Lingle, who vetoed civil unions legislation as governor, said she would be open to the idea of a constitutional amendment question on the controversial issue. She acknowledged that people’s attitudes over the years, especially younger generations, have evolved.
