Delaware, USA: Equality Delaware Ramping Up for Big Push on Marriage Equality

Written by scott on January 30th, 2013

DelawareDelaware Online reports that Delaware’s marriage equality group is getting ready to push for marriage equality on a big way on the state:

Equality Delaware, the advocacy group that won passage of Delaware’s same-sex civil unions bill in 2011, this week ramps up its campaign for full marriage equality with meetings in New Castle and Sussex counties. Hundreds of supporters are expected to attend the 5:30 p.m. gatherings – today at First & Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and Thursday at CAMP Rehoboth on Baltimore Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

The Governor supports the effort:

“The governor supports marriage equality,” said Michael Barlow, Markell’s chief of staff. He has not seen proposed legislation yet, Barlow said. “I understand there’s a discussion going on,” he said.

Hawaii, Illinois, Rhode Island – game on.
