South Carolina, USA: Same Sex Couples Denied Marriage Licenses in GreenvilleIvy Hill is a real estate investor and manages a family-owned campground. Misha Gibson is a student at Limestone College and hopes to go into social work. They want to get married.

The Piedmont couple went to County Square on Friday and stood in line behind another couple filling out a marriage license. When it came to their turn, they were denied. The reason: Both are women.

The denial came as no surprise. It’s not the first time they have tried. But it hurt a little more this time, with another couple ahead of them leaving with a signed marriage license in hand.
