Rhode Island, USA: Rabbis Support Marriage Equality

Written by scott on February 21st, 2013

Rhode IslandThe Board of Rabbis of Greater Rhode Island, a group representing most of Rhode Island’s Rabbis, has come out in support of the marriage equality bill currently being considered by the state’s legislature, WPRI reports:

[The group] released a statement in favor of a marriage equality bill, saying they “defend the dignity of and respect for every loving couple.” Rabbi Amy Levin of Temple Torat Yisrael, president of the Board of Rabbis, released the statement Wednesday.

The Rhode Island House approved the bill almost a month ago, but it’s being held up in the Senate by an anti-gay-marriage democratic leadership. Let’s keep the pressure on.
