Argentina: Gays Remember New Pope’s War on Marriage Equality

Written by scott on March 15th, 2013

The new Pope has a bad record on marriage equality in his home country of Argentina, as local gay activists remember well. Fox News reports:

Esteban Paulon is president of the Argentine Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transsexuals. He says Bergoglio waged a “war of God” against a gay-marriage proposal headed for Congress.

We’ll see if he continues Benedict’s war on the gays, or if he turns the Church’s attention to helping the poor and overcoming the many scandals that plague it.
