There’s gonna be a big party at David Cicilline’s house next week, and the proceeds will go towards the fight for marriage equality in Rhode Island, the Providence Journal reports:
U.S. Rep. David Cicilline is hosting a $500-a-ticket fundraiser at his Elmgrove Avenue, Providence, home on March 11 for the leading advocacy group for same-sex marriage: Rhode Islanders United for Marriage. His cohosts include the state’s openly gay House Speaker Gordon Fox and his longtime partner, Marcus LaFond; state Rep. Frank Ferri and his husband, Tony Caparco; the state Democratic Party’s three-time nominee for governor, Myrth York, and her husband, David Green; Clinton-era health-care adviser Ira Magaziner and his wife, Suzanne; former Republican Gov. Donald Carcieri’s one-time chief of staff and policy director Jeff Grybowski; Governor Chafee’s former senior adviser Stephen Hourahan, and Sen. Donna Nesselbush and partner Kelly Carse, among others.
Still no word on when the state Senate will get around to voting on the measure.
