Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee is stepping up to push for marriage equality in his state, HRC reports:
“For everyone in my administration, one of our top priorities is to wake up every day and work to create a climate that will promote economic development, attract the businesses of the future, and produce jobs for our state,” he stated in the op-ed.
The bill is held up in the state Senate, where the democratic leadership opposes it.
