London ParliamentPlanned to coincide with an anti gay marriage rally in France, opponents of marriage equality are staging a rally in London on March 24th. Pink News reports:

Organisers behind several anti-equal marriage rallies in France plan to stage a protest against the same-sex marriage bill for England and Wales on Sunday 24 March in Trafalgar Square. French anti-equality group La Manif pour Tous is said to be behind the rally, which will take place on Palm Sunday and coincides with a similar large-scale anti-equal marriage protest planned for the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

They staged a London demo back in mid January on the same day as the large march in Paris. That was underwhelming. Only 600 turned up outside the French embassy.

This 24 March London rally has gained very little publicity in Britain and this country is not renowned for an unqualified love of our neighbours across the English Channel.

The Paris police have banned them from marching down the Champs-Elysees but they say they are determined to do so. There could be a bit of a stand-off between police and demonstrators. The French police are known for going in hard.
