Paris Socialist Party Equality LogoThe French Senate narrowly rejected a motion to send the gay marriage bill to a public vote. Joe.My.God reports:

The referendum motion has failed: 340 votes cast; 164 votes ‘for’ and 176 votes ‘against’.” That was uncomfortably close, n’est-ce pas?

And also at Joe.My.God, he’s reporting on a change on the ruling party’s social media accounts:

The Senate vote is due sometime next week.
