More than five weeks after the marriage equality bill got final approval in the French Assembly, and after another massive protest against it, the Senate is set to vote on it next week. Voice of America reports:
A bill allowing same-sex marriages will go before the French senate Tuesday – the final legislative hurdle before it’s signed into law. The issue has divided many European countries, including Britain, where both supporters and opponents of gay marriage are watching developments in the U.S. Supreme Court closely.
Hopefully the Senate will pass this thing and get it to President Hollande’s desk – the French President has promised to sign it into law.
