Following the repeal of Montana’s sodomy law by the state legislature, and the attempt to keep Virginia’s on the books, a lawmaker in Texas is proposing repeal of that state’s law. LGBTQ Nation reports:
A Democratic lawmaker is proposing that Texas repeal an anti-gay law overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2003. El Paso Sen. Jose Rodriguez is expected to lay out his measure before the Senate Criminal Justice Committee on Wednesday.
Even though Texas was ground zero for the Supreme Court case Lawrence v. Texas that invalidated sodomy laws across United States, the law is still on the state’s books.
