First of all, out of Texas (isn’t it always out of Texas?). Think Progress reports:
“Well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What’s wrong with nine? Or eleven? And the problem is once you draw that limit; it’s kind of like marriage when you say it’s not a man and a woman any more, then why not have three men and one woman, or four women and one man, or why not, somebody has a love for an animal? There is no clear place to draw the line once you eliminate the traditional marriage and it’s the same once you start putting limits on what guns can be used, then it’s just really easy to have laws that make them all illegal.”
Yeah, we know, tired old cliche. Slippery slope, polygamy, dogs, cars, blah blah blah.
But wait. It gets better! Our friend Louie went even farther. As Pink News reports:
“And I pointed out, well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What’s wrong with nine? Or eleven? And the problem is once you draw that limit ; it’s kind of like marriage when you say it’s not a man and a woman any more, then why not have three men and one woman, or four women and one man, or why not somebody has a love for an animal?… He said later in the call that “the freedom of the church is at risk”, and that churches should continue to be exempt from discrimination laws, otherwise they would be forced to hire a “cross-dresser” or a “Satan-worshipper”.
OK, so stay with me here. Having a limit on one thing (ammunition rounds) is exactly the same as not having a limit on another totally unrelated thing (marriage) so cross dressers and satan worshipers blah blah blah. Talk about a loose canon – maybe we need a Louie Gohmert limit.
And how about Michael Reagan, the late president’s son? Joe.My.God reports:
“There is also a very slippery slope leading to other alternative relationships and the unconstitutionality of any law based on morality. Think about polygamy, bestiality, and perhaps even murder. Churches should be in the vanguard of the fight to defend the culture against legalized gay marriage, not hiding in their pews.”
Anyone see any churches hiding in their pews lately?
Pink News reports on an “ex-gay” preacher going after Starbucks for supporting marriage equality:
In an interview with the Chrisitan News Network, preacher Robert Breaud, who claimed that he was “cured” of his homosexuality said Starbucks was in a “Christ-hating position” and that by supporting equal marriage the company was “destroying young peoples lives. God will not bless your business in the long run if you consistently thumb your nose at Him and support things He calls sinful,” Breaud said.
And one more – conservative columnist Bill Kristol manages to put down both the gays and the youth vote/ Medialite reports:
Kristol lamented how some of the party’s leaders believe it necessary to take on the “fashionable” position of being okay with gay marriage. “Not only will those earn the contempt of people who believe in defending traditional marriage,” he said, but they won’t even get credit for hopping onto the bandwagon. “This kind of pathetic attempt to say, ‘Oh, my God! Young people especially are liberal so let’s just rush to cater to them,’ as if they’re going to respect you if you just embrace the views of some 26-year-old who doesn’t know anything honestly.”
Yeah all you stupid twenty-somethings. Idiot.
