Seriously?

Seriously?Another wave of crazy comments from opponents of marriage equality and LGBT rights.

Ex-Gay Groups Are Helping the Poor Gay Folks

Maggie Gallagher, a regular here and co-founder of the National Organization for Marriage, thinks the pitiful gays need help from now discredited Ex-Gay groups. On Top Magazine reports:

In an op-ed published in the National Review, Gallagher praised lawyer Chuck Limandri as “brave” for defending JONAH, a New Jersey-based Jewish “ex-gay” group, in a lawsuit filed by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). “Chuck Limandri, my old friend from the Carrie Prejean, Prop 8 fights, is a heckuva a lawyer and one brave man,” Gallagher wrote. “He’s taking on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s massive legal machine to defend the right of Jewish gay people to seek help.”

They don’t need your sort of help, our your pity, Ms. Gallagher.

Tell Me More About This Gay Sex Thing

Right-wing wackadoodle and US House member from texas Louie Gohmert mused recently in the “mating of two males.” Right Wing Watch reports:

Alleging that the Obama administration was attacking Christianity by threatening to prosecute those who believe that homosexuality is wrong with hate crimes laws, Gohmert wanted to know how “someone who believes in evolution … that throughout the history of the universe, and particularly Earth, that people have come together and born an offspring from different species that has evolved and given us stronger and better species, how does the mating of two males evolve the species upwards?”

The guy is going for a twofer on Evolution and Homosexuality, but in the end, he just exposes his own ignorance.

Letting a Killer Go Free Isn’t the True Injustice. Letting the Gays Marry Is

And Bryan Fischer is back once again – is he our most prolific contributor? After the Zimmerman case verdict was handed down, he sent out an odious tweet. On Top Magazine reports:

In a tweet sent over the weekend in response to a Florida jury finding Zimmerman not guilty of the shooting death of the 17-year-old Martin, Fischer lamented the deaths of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and Proposition 8, which resulted from the rulings, as a greater travesty. “For example of injustice, don’t look at Zimmerman,” Fischer messaged. “Look at what [the] Supreme Court did on DOMA, Prop 8. There’s your travesty.”

Congratulations on your Homiage

Seriously?Down in Australia, a Christian lawmaker wants to reserve the word “marriage” for straight couples, and he has an innovative plan. Gay Star News reports:

New South Wales (NSW) Legislative Council member the Reverend Fred Nile has claimed that gays and lesbians are mentally ill and says they should find their own term if they must formalize their relationships. Nile made the claims in a submission to a NSW parliamentary inquiry into whether same-sex marriage could be legalized at a state level while the Australian federal parliament refused to act on the issue. ‘These [few] homosexual males or female lesbians [who are monogamous] should create another term to describe their relationship eg: “Homiage” or “Lesiage” but not use the sacred historical term “Marriage,” Nile wrote in his submission in which he claimed that gays had launched a conspiracy within the American Psychiatric Association to have them declared mentally well.

And how is your Idiotiage going, Reverend Nile?

Marriage Equality is a Nazi Stormtrooper

And finally, the Anglicans in the UK played the Nazi card as the marriage equality bill was passing its final vote in Parliament. Joe.My.God reports:

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me-and there was no one left to speak for me.” – Anglican Mainstream

Um, first of all, they haven’t come for any of those other folks, and second, doesn’t the new law specifically bar same sex couples from getting married in the Church of England?
