Seriously? Our ongoing look at the crazy things marriage equality opponents are saying.

Letting Gays Marry = More Single Mothers

Over at the Heritage Foundation and National Organization for Marriage, they’ve come up wth a novel thesis – letting more folks marry means less folks will be married. Think Progress explains:

Ryan T. Anderson: “Redefining marriage further distances marriage from the needs of children and denies the importance of mothers and fathers. Redefining marriage rejects as a matter of policy the ideal that children need a mother and a father. Redefining marriage diminishes the social pressures for husbands to remain with their wives and children, and for men and women to marry before having children.” In other words, if men are free to marry other men, they’ll first marry women, then have children, and then abandon their families — presumably to marry men.

Um, isn’t that what happens now, because gays are in the closet?

Just ‘Cause You Can Marry in Massachusetts Doesn’t Mean You Can Divorce in Texas

Down in Texas, Attorney General Greg Abbott is arguing that the DOMA decision doesn’t allow gays to divorce in Texas. The Dallas Voice reports:

Abbott’s office filed its brief Thursday in State of Texas v. Angelique Naylor and Sabina Daly, a case involving a lesbian couple that was granted a divorce by a Travis County district judge. “Windsor does not empower one State to force every other State to recognize the marriage licenses it chooses to issue,” Abbott’s office wrote. “Only by ignoring Windsor’s extensive reliance on the States’ primary authority over marriage could Windsor be employed to attack Texas’s longstanding marriage policy.”

I’ve never understood why these far-right anti-gay folks are so against gay divorce – I mean, one less couple married, right>

Where’s the Entrance to the Ex-Gay Underground Railroad?

Joe.My.God reports on Pastor DL Foster and his increasingly crazy rants against The Gay:

Brian Tashman writes at Right Wing Watch: …we have uncovered more unhinged rants by organizers DL Foster and Greg Quinlan. Foster, who previously called for Dan Savage’s arrest and claimed gay Christians are like people wearing “blackface,” has posted several blog entries likening gay rights advocates to slave owners and the Ku Klux Klan. Now, he has taken it one step further by equating himself to Harriet Tubman, literally putting a picture of himself over a Harriet Tubman “wanted” poster.

Let’s Throw Parents of Transgender Kids in Jail for Child Abuse

And over at Queerty, they’re reporting that Matt Barber wants parents of transgender kids arrested:

“In order to be hip and cool and trendy to facilitate this gender confusion,” says Barber, “and then to even prepare this baby for hormone abuse, to try to stall the onset of puberty, and to pump testosterone into this child, is nothing short of child abuse.” Barber says that not forcing children into their biologically gender is “illustrative of the decline of our society when it comes to parental responsibility.”

Much better to force transgender kids into depression and maybe even suicide by making them live a lie?

I think these idiots and NOM and Heritage Foundation need to realize is they are against children out of wedlock. That has nothing to do with gay marriage. Not sure why they are confused.
