Gay Marriage Is Irrational, Unlike My Arguments
Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George just doesn’t get the whole marriage equality thing. Towleroad.com reports:
“This is first of all a rational issue before it’s a faith issue. That is, it’s nature that tells us what marriage is, that in marriage, men and women aren’t interchangeable. We didn’t invent marriage. The church didn’t invent marriage. Nature gives us marriage. The Chinese are not Americans, and they’re not Catholic. They know what marriage is. Where did that come from?”
Yeah, somehow I don’t think the Catholic Church has cornered the market on rationality these days…
Pennsylvania Says “We Totally Did Not Compare Gay Marriage to Child Marriage”
Pennsylvania General Counsel James D. Schulz Backtracked on the states defense of its marriage equality ban in court. LGBT Weekly reports:
Contrary to recent headlines, the administration does NOT equate same-sex marriage to the marriage of minors. Instead, the Commonwealth’s legal brief, which totals 25 pages of detailed legal arguments, responds to an elected official in Montgomery County ignoring the law of the commonwealth. In one passing reference, the legal brief notes other individuals whose marriages are excluded by Pennsylvania law, would have no standing to intervene in this type of case – and in any other circumstance the court would never entertain that type of effort to expand the scope of a case.
Um, yeah, you kinda did.
How Dare the IRS Force Gay Marriage On Us?
The National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown is not happy about the IRS plan to recognize legally married same-sex couples regardless of the state they live in. Newsmax reports:
“The Obama administration is intent on forcing same-sex ‘marriage’ on an unwilling public,” Brown said. “Congress alone has the responsibility of determining federal tax law.”
But doesn’t the Supreme Court trump Congress?
