Seriously? The latest in our series of the crazy things the anti gay folks are saying and doing around the world. This time we’ve got nuggets from the AFA’s Bryan Fischer, Archbishop John Nienstedt of Minnesota, the FRC’s Tony Perkins, NOM’s Brian Brown, and Scott Lively.

Bakery Attacked By Angry Gay Mob

Yes, you read that right. Our most active subject this month, the American family Association’s Bryan Fisher, is back.

Gay Star News reports:

In a rant, highlighted by Right Wing Watch, the anti-gay commentator called gay activists who protested the Oregon bakery that refused to bake wedding cake for a lesbian couple a ‘mob.’ ‘That bakery couple in Oregon had their bakery completely shut down by a homosexual mob, a homosexual mafia; they cried ‘Homo-Akbar!’ and assaulted, stormed metaphorically, the bakery and got it completely shut down.’

Not sure what the whole Homo-Akbar thing is about – maybe a twofer, gays and Muslims?

Satan Hearts Gay Marriage

Minnesota’s Archbishop John Nienstedt got in the act today with a lovely reference to every Catholic’s favorite nemesis.

The Advocate reports:

“Today many evil forces have set their sights on the dissolution of marriage and the debasing of family life,” he wrote. “Sodomy, abortion, contraception, pornography, the redefinition of marriage, and the denial of objective truth are just some of the forces threatening the stability of our civilization. The source of these machinations is none other than the Father of Lies. Satan knows all too well the value that the family contributes to the fabric of a good solid society, as well as the future of God’s work on earth.”

As I’ve mentioned here before, once you find yourself mentioning Satan, the Anti-Christ, Hitler, or the Nazi party, you’ve lost the argument.

No More Super Moist Yellow Cakes For You

Poor Betty Crocker. All she wanted to do was to help out some lovely gay and lesbian couples. Now she’s subject to a right wing boycott.

Gay Star News reports:

When same-sex marriage became legal in Minnesota, the Betty Crocker cake brand donated custom wedding cakes to three couples when they tied the knot… Now Tony Perkins, president of the anti-gay organization Family Research Council, wants his followers to take their collective sweet tooth elsewhere, Right Wing Watch reports. During a radio broadcast this week, Perkins called Betty Crocker’s role in the ‘counterfeit’ weddings ‘a recipe for disaster.’ He then urged listeners to boycott Betty Crocker, a brand owned by General Mills. ‘At Betty Crocker, the only thing they’re mixing up is their priorities,’ Perkins said. ‘When you’re at the store, think outside the Betty Crocker box!’

Oh but I do so love a good super moist yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Whatever shall I do?

Australia Was a Great Victory For Bigotry

So says the National Organization for Marriage’s Brian Brown, who calls for a national vote to ban marriage equality in the country.

“To cement this great victory, the people of Australia should insist on the right to a national referendum to preserve marriage. That’s the best way to capitalize on the momentum of the victory, and only an amendment will protect marriage from the unceasing efforts of gay-‘marriage’ activists and the politicians who rely on them for support. It’s the only way to ensure that the people — and not politicians or judges — control the definition of marriage in Australia.”

But what Brown conveniently forgets is that more than 60% of Australians are for marriage equality. Good luck with that whole ban thing.

Give Us Our Rainbow Back

Finally Scott Lively, the man who travels to Third World countries and riles them up against the LGBT community, said Christians want the rainbow back.

O-blog-dee-o-blog-da reports:

“The world has irreversibly lost a unique and precious gem of the English language that still adorns the poetry and musical lyrics of a more innocent time, like the fading photograph of a beloved child who died long ago. The word was stolen and destroyed like a kidnapped child who never came home.”… After declaring it “irreversibly lost… stolen and destroyed”, Lively goes on to lay out his plan to reclaim the word Rainbow to its rightful owners – the Christians who apparently can reverse the irreversible. Lively’s plan to take back the rainbow from those who “adopted the rainbow flag as an act of defiance against God, and their final attempt to sanitize their sin is to wrap themselves in His own cloak” is to drape Sochi in “rainbow flags and banners bearing the slogan ‘The Rainbow Belongs to God: Genesis 6-9, 19’.”

Mother nature just called. She wants the Christians to give the rainbow back.
