Remember that bakery in Oregon that refused to make a wedding cake for lesbian a couple of months ago? Well, they’re closing their storefront.

Gay Star News reports:

Sweet Cakes by Melissa owner, who had cited religious reasons for refusing to make the cake, wrote on their Facebook page over the weekend that they were converting into an ‘in home bakery.’ On their Facebook page they state: ‘We here at Sweet Cakes strongly believe that when a man and woman come together to be joined as one, it is truly one of the most special days of their lives.’

You know the religious right will be all over this one. But note that no fines had been assessed yet against the business, and that they closed of their own volition. Also note that Oregon does not yet have marriage equality. Expect these facts to get lost in the next few days.

Their fight is to preserve their “right” to be bigoted. Jesus weeps over their refusal to follow His teachings and in using His name to justify this behavior. I mean that is true if you follow their Bible, “going to hell,” and all for acting like this

Even if they close their storefront, won’t they still be subject to the non-discrimination law?

  3. Karen says:

I seriously do not see how Christians can use religion as a basis to deny the love two people have for each other. Someone needs to explain this to me.

They refused to make a cake for ‘lesbian’?

Ok…so I get that they feel they have a fight…BUT…didn’t there LORD say something about loving ALL??

Good Riddance!!! Take your bigoted ideas elsewhere!!!
