USA, California: Love is Love Movement Plans Counter Presence to Westboro Baptist Church in Sacramento

Written by scott on January 28th, 2014

Love is LoveJust got this from our friend, Beverly Kearny:

The Love is Love Movement is planning a counter presence to Westboro Baptist Church’s reported picketing of Granite Bay High School’s production of “The Laramie Project.” “The Laramie Project” is a play depicting community reaction to the 1998 death of Matthew Shepard, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming.

Westboro Baptist Church announced their plans to picket via Twitter. Love is Love Movement supporters will begin gathering on January 30, 2014 at 5:30 PM in front of Granite Bay High School (rain or shine).

The goal of our presence is to provide a visible message of love, acceptance and approval to the LGBTQ community, their friends and family, to the students of GBHS and to our community at large. Supporting organizations include the Gender Health Center and the Sacramento LGBT Community Center.

For more information concerning the counter presence, contact Love is Love Movement at www.facebook.com/LoveisLoveMovement, or love.is.love.movement@gmail.com.

If you’re in the Sacramento area, and can make it, go – Beverly organized the successful protest agains the Roseville Galleria when they kicked out a gay couple for PDA.
