You Guys Are Sore Winners
While basically acknowledging that marriage equality has won in the US, conservative columnist George Will calls gays “sore winners” for wanting wedding vendors to have to treat them the same as other marrying couples. I gues those African Americans at the lunch counter were sore winners too, then?
Can’t We Half-Surrender?
New York Times columnist Ross Douthat also acknowledges that marriage equality will become the law of the land, but he’s upset that it will also apply to Christian business owners. He argues that Christians should be allowed to negotiate the terms of their surrender. A nice euphemism for “why can’t we still discriminate against you?”
It’s a Human Right for Men to Marry Women
That’s the line Zimbabwe’s President Mugabe is taking after a number of countries threatened to cut off aid to African countries over anti gay laws. And apparently it’s a human right to not only prevent gays and lesbians from marrying, but to throw them in jail or eve execute them for their “sin”. Who knew discrimination was now a human right?
