Another county is set to start issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples Monday Morning.
Same-sex couples who want to marry in Michigan may get marriage licenses in Genesee County on Monday, March 24. That is, however, only if a judicial stay isn’t issued, said Genesee County Clerk-Register of Deeds John Gleason. “We intend to accept the first applications 8 a.m. Monday morning,” Gleason said. Gleason said he also expects to have ministers available in the office to make the marriages official. He said at least one minister plans to be in the office Monday.
