USA, Michigan: Holder Says Federal Government Will Recognize State’s New Marriages

US Attorney General Eric HolderUS Attorney General Eric Holder just released a statement saying the US Government would recognize the 300+ weddinge performed last Saturday in Michigan.

Just in via White House press release: “I have determined that the same-sex marriages performed last Saturday in Michigan will be recognized by the federal government. These families will be eligible for all relevant federal benefits on the same terms as other same-sex marriages. The Governor of Michigan has made clear that the marriages that took place on Saturday were lawful and valid when entered into, although Michigan will not extend state rights and benefits tied to these marriages pending further legal proceedings.

These couples now have their full legal Federal rights. Governor Snyder, the ball’s back in your court.

    They need to let us be it shiuld not go back to court. It is far worse thing going on in mi than same-sex marriages. So why dont they go do something with that. Find kids and people missing stop people from robbie people . Just leave us alone

    What clowns these politicians…they are totally aware of the fact that their actions are for political gain only, pandering to the electoral base that keeps them in office. When same-sex marriage comes to their states by any other means than by their consent, they will capitulate but only after spending millions in tax payer funds to fight a ruling they know they will lose. What hateful people do they serve…Pastor Phelps comes to mind!
