Men Of Houston, Occupy the Ladies Room to Scare the Women
The right-wing Watchmen News has an idea to fight the new LGBT rights law in Houston. “…the men of the city should occupy the women’s bathrooms in the name of “equal rights.” If you are asked why you are there, just say, “I think of myself as a woman today.” Maybe after this happens enough the women of Houston will rise up in protest.” I gotta say, this one wins the award for one of the most fucking insensitive things I’ve ever seen from these folks. They’re always saying these laws will result in men threatening women in the women’s restrooms. I guess I never realized they planned to be those men.
Shoot the Poofs That Say Lush
Danielle McMahon, an underwear model who’s in the Big Brother house, has a thing against the gays. Pink News reports: “In a series of tweets sent from what appears to be McMahon’s Twitter account last year, McMahon called gay people ‘poofs’ and ‘freaks’, suggested that they are not actually men, telling them to ‘man up’. In one tweet she said: ‘Just seen a supposed guy use the word lush…. Shoot him, shoot him now How utterly cringe and vile #manup #poof.'” Oh, and she’s a god-fearing Christian who poses topless for money. #typical.
Let’s Apologize for the Whole Gay Marriage Thing
Conservative MP Sir Edward Leigh in the UK wants his party to apologize for giving gays and lesbians marriage rights: “I think it was a great mistake to bring in gay marriage. I think some future Labour government would have done it anyway. It wasn’t necessary for a Conservative government to do it. But it’s done now [and] we are not going to undo it.” Maybe they should apologize for having a neanderthal like you in the party.
Support for Gay Marriage Is Totally Fabricated
Doug Mainwarin, a gay tea party activist (talk about an oxymoron) thinks support for marriage equality in the US is fake. “Proponents of same-sex marriage haven’t won in the arena of ideas—they have won through manipulation. The moral high ground the radical left seems to enjoy is extremely fragile, because its popular support has been fabricated.” First of all, shame on this purportedly gay man for attacking his own. And second, how does he explain poll after poll, ruling after ruling, and vote after vote all in favor of marriage equality? The bubble is strong in this one…
I Missed My High School Civics Classes…
NOM’s Brian Brown is up in arms over the Federal judge who just overturned Wisconsin’s marriage equality ban. “It’s a simple question, one to which every Junior High student in America learns the answer. Who rules this country? We the People! Government of the people, by the people, for the people! Simple, clear, and unmistakable — unless you are an unelected federal judge. Then it seems the rule is: I will impose my opinion on an entire state and trample on the people and their will.” Guess he missed the whole bit about the three branches of government and checks and balances…
