AUSTRALIA: The Queensland Government hopes to reinstate civil unions by the end of the year. full story

ITALY: Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has said his country can no longer put off civil unions after Catholic-majority Ireland legalized gay marriage by referendum. full story

MOROCCO: Three men in Morrocco accused of homosexuality have been jailed for three years each. full story

UGANDA: Vehemently anti-gay Hon Rebecca Kadaga, the Ugandan Speaker of Parliament, celebrated her 59th birthday in the country which has values she openly detests. full story

UK: MPs being sworn into the House of Commons have for the first time been given the option of a gender neutral title. full story

UK, NORTHERN IRELAND: Sinn Fein Cllr Sandra Duffy said the party would continue its campaign for marriage equality for all, and called for marriage equality in Northern Ireland, too. full story

UK, NORTHERN IRELAND: Protests will be held in Belfast – calling on Northern Ireland to follow the Republic in introducing same-sex marriage. full story

USA: The Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund on Monday (25 May) renewed its call for transgender people to be allowed to serve openly in the United States Armed Forces. full story

USA, INDIANA: The state of Indiana had to pay more than $1.4 million in fees to plaintiffs’ attorneys in its unsuccessful attempt to maintain a ban on same-sex marriages, the attorney general’s office says. full story

USA, PENNSYLVANIA: A gay couple who registered as “father and son” in 1994 to ensure legal rights will now marry. full story

USA, UTAH: Derek Kitchen and Moudi Sbeity, the couple involved in the landmark case that led to same-sex marriage in Utah, tied the knot in a downtown ceremony Sunday. full story
