Judicial rulings have thrown Argentina into same-sex marriage chaos, this month. Three gay couples and one lesbian couple have been allowed to marry in recent months following judicial rulings that applied specifically to each couple.
But other judges then came along and, upon the request of hostile parties, annulled three of the four same-sex marriages. Then, on April 19, one of the three annulled marriages was un-annulled by a judge.
The annulled marriages include the groundbreaking Dec. 28 marriage of Buenos Aires gay activists Alex Freyre and Jose María Di Bello that took place in the far southern province of Tierra del Fuego.
