Gay Activist Walking Across US for Equality

A small light orb can be seen traveling along Highway 50 as Richard Noble treks across the United States to raise awareness for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people’s rights.

Noble carries a walking staff with a rainbow flag representing the LGBT community. Native American feathers given to him by the Walker River Paiute Tribe represent two spirits and a solar light on top guides his way.

The activist said he hopes to raise awareness and gain national support for the American Equality Bill that would grant equality to the LGBT community.

UK: Gay Activist Meets With Equalities Minister on Marriage Equality

Gay rights legend Peter Tatchell has met with Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone MP to urge the government to review its ban on gay marriage.

He and other queer campaigners convened with Featherstone yesterday at the House of Commons to discuss the possibility of granting civil partnerships a religious content.

“The coalition government should undertake a public consultation to determine whether the ban on gay marriage ought to be lifted,” Tatchell argued.
