NewsCorp “Gay Wedding” Magazine Launches in September

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

Newscorp's "Gay Wedding" MagazineOh, delicious irony. It has come to my attention that News Corp, parent company to virulently homophobic Fox News and NY Post doesn’t apparently hate the gays enough to not make a buck off them, if the opportunity presents itself.

Seems Dan Avery over at Queerty got a hold of a pre-launch ad pitch sales kit that News Corp circulated for their new glossy magazine, WEDDING pride. The mag will feature, “editorial content that celebrates the Gay Community and its recent achievement.” Avery reports:

Launching in September, the mag (produced by News Corp’s Community Newspaper Group subsidiary) will have an initial distribution of 35,000 among “the traditional as well as the newer gay and gay friendly communities within the Tri-State area.” (Translation: Chelsea, Park Slope, Fire Island, Montclair, South Orange, Asbury Park.)

News Corp to Publish Gay Marriage Magazine While Trashing Gays on Fox

Sunday, August 7th, 2011

While the hacks over at FOX News are busy attacking everything in sight with regards to same-sex marriage, News Corp smells profits. In fact, the embattled news corporation is planning on publishing WEDDING Pride, a high-end glossy which will feature “editorial content that celebrates the Gay Community and its recent achievement.” This just shows that, if Rupert Murdoch could make a buck digging up his late mother and selling her as a road side attraction, he would.

Queerty reports that:

Launching in September, the mag (produced by News Corp’s Community Newspaper Group subsidiary) will have an initial distribution of 35,000 among “the traditional as well as the newer gay and gay friendly communities within the Tri-State area.” (Translation: Chelsea, Park Slope, Fire Island, Montclair, South Orange, Asbury Park.)
