Scotland: Minister Compares Marriage Equality to Pedophelia

Scotland Minister and Marriage EqualityA Scottish church minister has caused outrage by comparing homosexuality to paedophilia, polygamy and theft. Speaking on a BBC Radio Scotland ‘Call Kaye’ discussion on Friday, the Reverend James Gracie, a minister of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing), said being gay was a “lifestyle choice”.

He said: “If the homosexuals, and these people, want to be treated equally, then what about paedophiles? What about polygamy?”

Another guest, Tom French of the Equality Network, disagreed but Mr Gracie replied: “Even if you were to take that view, there are people who steal, people have tendencies for all sorts of things.”

WI: Methodist Minister Suspended for Twenty Days Over Gay Wedding

An openly-gay United Methodist minister was suspended from her religious duties for 20 days after elders decided on Thursday that she violated church doctrine by performing a same-sex wedding.

Rev. Amy Delong was also required to write a paper about how she should deal with issues that “create an adversarial spirit” within the church, according Rev. Tom Lambrecht, representing the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church.

“We feel good that it recognizes that there was a violation of church law and that there is a punishment levied,” Lambrecht said of the decision.

Australia: Right Wing Minister: Time for Labor to Back Gay Marriage (The Australian)

Australia Gay MarriageRIGHT-WING Labor minister Mark Arbib has declared his party’s policy against gay marriage must change to allow same-sex couples to marry. Mr Arbib is the first frontbencher to break his silence on the issue.

The NSW factional powerbroker told The Weekend Australian his view was that gay people should have the legal right to marry. And he said all MPs should be given a conscience vote on the controversial issue. Until now, only Labor’s left-wing factional powerbrokers have agitated on the issue.

Senator Arbib has major influence in the Right and his decision to break ranks will have an enormous impact on the debate within the ALP. “If I was the parent of a gay son or daughter I don’t know how I could tell them they didn’t have the same rights as I do,” he said yesterday.

Lady Gaga to Become Minister, Perform Gay Weddings

Lady GagaThe pop star has reportedly nearly completed on-line coursework to become a minister, so she can officiate marriage ceremonies for her gay fans! A source says:

“She has completed virtually all of the coursework. She sees this as a way of repaying the love her fans have shown her. This isn’t a gimmick. She has a very strong belief system and has embraced God since she was a little girl.”

What a truly wonderful gesture! We can’t wait for Reverend Lady GodGa to start marrying off her Little Monsters!
