The first civil partnership registrations in Queensland have taken place this morning with a number of couples getting in early at the Brisbane Office of Births, Deaths and Marriages to record their union.
Among the first to register was the couple that featured in the controversial Queensland Healthy Communities’ Rip ‘N Roll safe sex campaign poster, Michael James and Anthony Gillespie.
“We are both excited to be a part of history being made in Queensland,” said James.
