Actress and Grammy winner Vanessa Williams has voiced her support marriage equality, appearing in the latest “”New Yorkers for Marriage Equality” campaign by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).
Williams, citing five states and the District of Columbia where same-sex marriage is already legal, Williams said, “It’s time for New York to lead again.”
Williams, the first African-American to win the title of Miss America, has been nominated for Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Awards, winning the latter for her song, “Colors of the Wind.” She currently stars as Renee Perry on ABC’s Desperate Housewives.
