GAMBIA: In a new report, Amnesty International said Wednesday the human rights situation has deteriorated sharply this past year. full story

NIGERIA: The Nigerian President apparently this week “flatly rejected” calls from the US to reverse his country’s anti-gay law. full story

UK, SCOTLAND: A Pride event in Scotland has overturned a ban on drag performers – and now says drag will be welcomed at the event. full story

USA: Ted Olson and David Boies, the legal eagles behind the reversal of California’s Prop. 8, have come out in favor of new legislation being introduced in Congress tomorrow that would extend non-discrimination protections to all LGBT Americans. full story

USA: Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) released the results of a new Democracy Corps survey from Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, demonstrating that 59% of likely 2016 voters are less likely to support a candidate who opposes non-discrimination protections for LGBT people. full story

USA: Within hours after his announcement, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest LGBT rights advocate, released a video highlighting Governor John Kasich’s record on LGBT issues. full story

USA: Yesterday Ted Cruz convened a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, which he chairs, in order to call for reining in the “judicial tyranny” of the Supreme Court. full story

USA: On the Rachel Maddow show, Rick Santorum apologized for his infamous “man on dog” comment, sort of. full story

USA, ALABAMA: Houston and Henry counties, which had previously refused to issue any licenses because of gay marriage, have now relented. full story

USA: At least nine Alabama counties are refusing to issue marriage licenses to any couples, gay or heterosexual, nearly a month after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage. full story

USA, KENTUCKY: Governor Steve Beshear has a message for county clerks in his state who are refusing to marry same-sex couples: be prepared to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples or resign. full story

USA, LOUISIANA: State Attorney General Buddy Caldwell’s office has been billed more than $330,000 in legal fees to defend Louisiana’s ban on same-sex marriage in court. full story

USA, TEXAS: The ACLU of Texas and several organizations will host a series of town hall meetings in Brownsville, Harlingen and McAllen beginning Monday. full story
