POP CULTURE: A British film has been banned from the Beirut Film Festival (October 7-15) and the director believes it was cut for its ‘LGBT content’. full story

POP CULTURE: Trevor Moran, a 17-year-old YouTube star who rose to fame after joining the video-sharing service at age 10 and began uploading clips of himself dancing to popular songs at the Apple Store, has come out of the closet in a couple of videos to his more than 925,000 followers. full story

POP CULTURE: Bond actor Ben Whishaw has said he is ‘baffled’ about a debate over actors revealing their sexuality. full story

INTERNATIONAL: Dotgay’s application to administer the .gay domain has been rejected again because ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) ruled ‘gay’ could not be considered an ‘umbrella term’ for LGBTI people. full story

AUSTRALIA: Despite same-sex marriage remaining banned in Australia, Sydney’s Lord Mayor has performed a same-sex wedding ceremony inside the British consulate. full story

DENMARK: The US ambassador to Denmark has tied the knot with his partner, at the site of the world’s first same-sex unions. full story

TAIWAN: Hundreds of LGBT rights supporters in the southern Taiwanese city of Tainan unfurled a giant rainbow flag to mark Taiwan’s National Day on Saturday. full story

UK: GLAAD has announced the launch of a UK operation as part of its growing global work to accelerate acceptance of the LGBT community. full story

USA: Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton acknowledged Friday that the unabated murders of transgender women constitutes a “national crisis.” full story

USA, CALIFORNIA: Imperial County, the last county to actively oppose marriage equality in the state, is getting an LGBT community center. full story

USAa, KENTUCKY: The ACLU wants to make the Kim Davis case a class action lawsuit and the Liberty Counsel is VERY unhappy about that, telling the court that the ACLU is just trying to pump up their legal fees. full story

USA, NORTH CAROLINA: North Carolina marked an historic anniversary yesterday– it’s been one year since the first same-sex marriage was performed in the state. full story
