CJ the DJ

Periodically we’ll feature one of our vendors here to let our readers know about some great people who can help you plan the perfect wedding:

2017 will be my 20th year as CJ the DJ.
I believe in love, freedom to marry & good parties!!

I live in beautiful, rural Fitzwilliam New Hampshire & host weddings regularly around New England; I’m considered the #1 local DJ from the votes of my local paper, the Keene Sentinel.

Becoming a club DJ as pastime when I turned 21, it became a passion when I changed venues, sharing the experiences with my foster children while entertaining families at a local farm resort.

I love DJing weddings, the experiences it brings & the wonderful people I meet or become closer to through music, particularly by helping them plan & execute most important days of their lives.

I’m also extremely community-minded & believe in equality.

I serve as Selectman for my hometown of Fitzwilliam New Hampshire, on my Alumni Board for Franklin Pierce University & I remain active in many organizations: Gap Mountain Lion’s Club, American Legion NH Post #11, Fitzwilliam Garden Club, Historic District, Historic Society, Twin States Network, Camp Takodah, YMCA, etc.

For every wedding entertain, I DJ two charity events.

I love animals & help Monadnock Humane Society & Fast Friends Adoption Center raise thousands annually. I help cancer groups, AIDS organizations, homeless shelters, youth groups, church groups, government organizations, business networks, local chambers of commerce & I often volunteer, providing sound for unique events, like the NH Travel Councils 39th Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Peterborough’s Annual Gala this past Saint Patrick’s Day.

USA, New Hampshire: New Constitutional Amendment Threatened – For the Gays

Thursday, April 3rd, 2014

In what’s likely a first, New Hampshire is considering a constitutional amendment that would actually protect gays from discrimination.

New Hampshire, USA: Third GOP House Member Supports Defense of Marriage Act RepealLGBTQ Nation reports:

A House panel is holding a hearing on a proposed amendment to New Hampshire’s constitution that would prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. The measure passed the Senate unanimously and if three-fifths of the House agrees, it would go before voters in November. The constitution currently prohibits discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex and national origin. The amendment would add sexual orientation. The state already prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation in statute, but supporters want to enshrine the protection in the constitution.

Wow – in the space of ten years we’ve gone from amendments to strip us of constitutional protections in more than 30 states to a state proposing to enshrine protections for the LGBT community in one of these sacred documents. I feel like I’m living through history sometimes.

Traveling at the Speed of Love: Winning the Race for Equality

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

Five years ago last week, on Election Day 2008, California’s electorate passed Prop 8, marking perhaps the most notable low point in the marriage equality movement as a minority was stripped of a previously recognized constitutional right. As of this week five years ago, only two states – Massachusetts and Connecticut – fully recognized the marriages of same-sex couples.

How far we’ve come since then. And how fast.
